The new 20,000 m² facility, which is a third larger than IMI CCI’s previous facility, has significantly increased IMI CCI’s manufacturing capability such that it can now produce valve sizes of up to 42” in-house. In addition, the new factory boasts significantly enhanced welding and testing capabilities as a result of substantial capital investment in new machinery.

More than 60 customers and 20 government officials were in attendance at the opening ceremony, which was hosted by Mark Selway, Chief Executive of IMI plc. He commented: “We have all the right ingredients for success in Korea – a business-friendly environment, a history of strong growth and above all, a passionate workforce committed to leading the market through engineering excellence.”

After a traditional opening ceremony, which featured traditional Korean drumming, tree planting and ribbon cutting, customers and guests were treated to a tour of the facility.

Customers present were highly impressed. One representative from Doosan Heavy Industries commented: “The new facility looks fantastic and we look forward to working with IMI CCI Korea for the upcoming Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Plant projects.” Another representative from KOMIPO added: “We have been satisfied with the supreme quality of IMI CCI valves so far. Thanks to the new facility in Paju, we can now expect locally-manufactured goods with much shorter delivery lead times.”
