New Lens Delivers Short Focal Length with High Precision and Small Spot Size for High-Power Applications

Qioptiq Introduces F-Theta-Ronar 160mm Lens
Qioptiq, an Excelitas Technologies® Company and global technology leader in delivering innovative optical and photonic solutions, introduces its F-Theta-Ronar 160mm Lens with a focal length of 160mm at 515nm-540nm and 163mm at 1030nm-1080nm. The lens is ideal for use in laser materials processing industries such as energy storage and additive manufacturing for applications including 3D printing, welding and cutting.

The new F-Theta-Ronar 160mm Lens offers the shortest focal length of all Qioptiq low-absorption F-Theta lenses. Its larger entrance apertures of 10/14mm for the 160mm lens and 14/20mm for the 163mm lens are well suited for high-power applications requiring higher precision and smaller spot size. The high-end angle corrected coating provides reduced thermal focus shift and constant transmission over the scan field.

F-Theta-Ronar 160mm is designed for scanning areas up to 91x91mm² with wavelengths of 515nm-540nm (for green) and 85x85mm² with 1030nm-1080nm wavelengths (for IR). Its complete fused-silica design is optimized for an entrance beam diameter of 10/14mm for green and 14/20mm for IR, resulting in a spot size between 12 and 23µm. The lens also includes interchangeable protective glass.
