Gold Hongye Paper Group Co and plant engineering group ANDRITZ have commissioned two high-consistency refining installations to enhance tissue stock preparation. The systems were deployed at the producer's manufacturing sites in Rudong, Jiangsu province, and Xiaogan, Hubei province, China.

Each installed refining line comprises an ANDRITZ dewatering screw press upstream of a high-consistency refiner. The mechanical sequence functions through distinct stages:
- Dewatering: The pulp slurry is dewatered via the screw press to achieve high-consistency conditions prior to the mechanical treatment zone.
- Fiber-to-Fiber Refining: Operating at high consistency shifts the mechanical forces from direct bar-to-fiber impacts to internal fiber-to-fiber friction.

The technical approach stabilizes the paper web forming process, maintains target physical properties, and optimizes the raw material composition within industrial papermaking operations.
