The partnership combines the upstream technical expertise of PETRONAS Carigali with IBM’s AI-powered information technology infrastructure and Tridiagonal.AI’s engineering-driven AI algorithms. This agreement represents the third Joint Development Agreement under the TriCipta AI framework, extending a partnership model established through two landmark agreements in 2025 into a new operational domain.

The technical solution relies on the TriCipta AI framework, an integrated architecture designed to rapidly build, validate, and deploy artificial intelligence applications tailored for upstream operations. Deployment or Implementation
The implementation strategy focuses on deploying the new surface equipment optimization suite directly within PETRONAS Carigali's upstream operational environments. This rollout builds upon the infrastructure established during earlier phases of the TriCipta AI initiative, which included the successful deployment of AI.SEEK and the AI-enabled Global Exploration Basin Screening & Analysis platform.

While those existing tools function by transforming and unifying complex geoscience data into automated geospatial intelligence for exploration activities, the new implementation phase will interface with surface facility networks. The automated system will integrate with existing asset management infrastructure to optimize production workflows, reduce unplanned equipment downtime, and provide predictive maintenance parameters across upstream operations.
