Vayona Energy has announced its first India market deal with Oyster Renewable Energy Private Limited (IPP) for a 64.8 MW wind power project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh.
Under the agreement, Vayona Energy will supply 18 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines, along with a long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) contract. The project marks a key milestone for Vayona following its market entry in India after acquiring the onshore wind business from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
Strengthening Onshore Wind Presence in India
The Kadapa project reinforces Vayona’s strategy to scale onshore wind solutions across India and Sri Lanka. The company reports a robust order book exceeding 1 GW and an O&M portfolio of approximately 7 GW, reflecting growing market confidence in its technology and service capabilities.
Prashant Jain, Executive Vice Chairman of Vayona Energy, stated that the order strengthens customer confidence in the company’s products and optimised offerings tailored for India’s renewable energy landscape.
Oyster Renewable Expands in Andhra Pradesh
For Oyster Renewable Energy, the 64.8 MW development represents its first and largest venture into Andhra Pradesh. Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director of Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the technical suitability of the 3.6 MW turbines for the region’s wind conditions and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative.
Proven 3X Platform Performance
Since the launch of the 3X platform in India, cumulative order intake has surpassed 3.6 GW, with installations exceeding 2 GW as of December 2025. These figures underline the platform’s operational reliability under Indian conditions.
Major turbine components for the Kadapa project will be manufactured and assembled at Vayona Energy’s facility in Mamandur, near Chennai. Supply is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of calendar year 2026.
With this partnership, Vayona Energy and Oyster Renewable Energy strengthen India’s onshore wind capacity, supporting the country’s ongoing transition toward cleaner and domestically manufactured renewable power solutions.
