ASRock Industrial has introduced the IMB-X1904, a flagship EATX high-performance computing (HPC) motherboard powered by Intel® Xeon® 600 processors and the W890 chipset, designed to support AI workloads, advanced industrial automation, and compute-intensive edge deployments.

As industrial digitalization, AI inference, and edge data centers continue to scale, manufacturers are increasingly demanding platforms that combine extreme compute density with long-term reliability, remote manageability, and continuous operation. The IMB-X1904 is engineered to meet these requirements, positioning it as a backbone platform for performance-critical industrial systems.

Extreme compute density for AI and industrial workloads
The IMB-X1904 supports Intel® Xeon® 600 processors with up to 86 performance cores, delivering the processing headroom required for AI inference, real-time video analytics, test and measurement systems, and data-intensive industrial applications. The platform is designed for always-on operation and parallel processing, making it suitable for mission-critical environments where uptime and consistency are essential.

Massive memory capacity and data integrity
To handle large datasets and complex AI models, the motherboard supports up to 2TB of quad-channel ECC DDR5 memory at 5200 MHz, including RDIMM and 3DS RDIMM configurations. ECC support ensures data integrity and system stability for long-term industrial deployments.

PCIe Gen5 expansion for accelerator-driven systems
IMB-X1904 offers a high-density expansion architecture with:
  • Six PCIe Gen5 x16 slots
  • One PCIe Gen5 x8 slot
  • Dual MCIO connectors with PCIe Gen5 x8
This configuration enables seamless integration of GPUs, AI accelerators, high-speed networking, and NVMe fabrics, supporting accelerator-centric AI platforms, simulation systems, and advanced visualization workloads.

The motherboard delivers broad I/O support, including multiple USB interfaces, COM ports, VGA output, and GPIO for industrial control integration. Networking options include dual Intel® 1GbE LAN, while the IMB-X1904-10G variant adds dual Intel® 10GbE LAN, enabling high-bandwidth, low-latency networking for data-intensive applications.

Storage support includes:
  • Two M.2 NVMe slots (PCIe Gen5 x4 and Gen4 x4)
  • One U.2 port
  • Eight SATA3 ports with Intel® RAID 0/1/5/10 support
This allows scalable, resilient storage configurations for AI, analytics, and data acquisition systems.

Optional out-of-band management for remote operations
For distributed and unattended deployments, ASRock Industrial offers the AI-M2-OOB-1G optional out-of-band management module. The module provides hardware-level remote monitoring and control, including power cycling, BIOS recovery, Clear CMOS, Serial-over-LAN, and real-time health monitoring via a dedicated Ethernet interface—ensuring system recovery even when the OS or primary network is unavailable.
