Digital Realty and BW Digital to Support Cross-Border Connectivity Between Singapore and Batam

Digital Realty, the world’s largest cloud- and carrier-neutral data centre provider, has announced a partnership with BW Digital to strengthen DC-to-DC connectivity between Singapore and Indonesia. The collaboration will support the rollout of BW Digital’s Nongsa Changi Cable System (NCC), a new high-capacity submarine cable linking Batam with Singapore, and integrate it with Digital Realty’s SIN12 data centre.

The initiative will expand access to critical cloud, storage, and compute hubs for enterprises across Southeast Asia, supporting rising AI and digital transformation demands. NCC—set to deliver more than 1.6 Pb/s capacity with sub-2 ms latency—will be the first submarine cable to land directly in Nongsa Digital Park, enhancing Batam’s position as a strategic hyperscale and AI infrastructure hub.

By connecting NCC directly to SIN12 and Digital Realty’s PlatformDIGITAL®, customers will benefit from high-performance subsea connectivity, scalable interconnection options, and the ability to run AI/ML workloads efficiently.

BW Digital’s upcoming 144MW NDP-1 “AI Factory” data centre in Batam will further provide seamless, low-latency access to regional markets through direct links to the subsea landing station, reinforcing the Singapore–Batam corridor as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure clusters.
