EPLAN

Eplan Data Portal: More than 100 Manufacturers

A parts data wizard has made the integration of product data into the Eplan Data Portal much easier. This benefits both the manufacturer and the user. For the first time, more than 100 manufacturers will be represented in the portal when SPS IPC Drives in November starts. With comprehensive device data, the more than 90,000 portal users worldwide will be able to simplify and accelerate their engineering processes. The necessary macros, component data and 3D data for the construction of a virtual control cabinet can be easily and directly integrated into the CAE design.

Eplan Harness proD 2.5

Version 2.5 of Eplan Harness proD is in the start blocks. In combination with Eplan Platform's central parts management system, users benefit from continuous and optimised workflows. A wide range of enhancements for nail board design, cable routing and project management guarantee effective wire harness engineering.

Changing CAEs led to major workflow improvements

How EPLAN streamlined order fulfillment Manufacturers upgrading to an advanced, database-centric electrical CAE like EPLAN can reap important strategic benefits over and above making their engineers more productive.

24/7: High Value Support

Companies that are global players often work around the clock. There are tight schedules for customer projects and the development of new products. Eplan supports these companies in achieving their goals with its new High Value Support. Companies can benefit from expanded support services, including worldwide 24-hour English-language support via telephone, responses in less than 2 hours, problem analysis via Remote Tool and personal customer care with a Technical Support Manager.

EEC: Eplan Engineering Configuration

Eplan Engineering Center is becoming Eplan Engineering Configuration: the new name is being introduced with Version 2.4 and demonstrates that configuration is a core function of Eplan’s mechatronic engineering solutions. The launch at SPS IPC Drives will also introduce revised functionalities and the version number now matches that of the Eplan Platform.

Eplan Experience

At the SPS IPC Drives Eplan Experience will be launched: a new knowledge-driven international programme introduced by Eplan that aims to optimise engineering efficiency. By making engineering practices more efficient it will lead to specific and clear competitive advantages such as strategic innovation management through a high-performing IT environment; shorter time to market; optimal resource management; and greater international competitiveness.

Strategic Partners: Mitsubishi Electric Europe and Eplan

More integration for electrical engineering and PLC programming Transferring data from electrical engineering directly into PLC programming – this is now state-of-the-art technology with the integration of Eplan Electric P8 and GX Works2. Yet Mitsubishi Electric Europe and Eplan continue striving for more as partners in the e-F@ctory Alliance to further increase project quality and data consistency for users.

Available now for download: New Eplan Platform 2.4

The new major release of the Eplan Platform is now available. PLC project planning in graphical overviews, sub-projects and new navigation options accelerate project planning, even in large projects. Extended support for IEC 81346 and IEC 61355 through structuring principles and reference designations offers a basis for innovative design methods.

Data exchange with synchronisation of catalogue parts

Teamcenter interface expanded An advanced interface between Eplan and Teamcenter has been launched. The interface includes bi-directional catalogue part synchronisation of the E-CAD and PLM part libraries. Synchronisations can be set either regularly or on demand. The new integration includes functions for creation and update of parts data and supports the latest Teamcenter releases.

(Re)Launch: New EPLAN Data Portal

An integrated 3D viewer, a new surface with manufacturer logos in the grid, additional manufacturers and updated component catalogues: The Eplan Data Portal will be available as of August 2014 in a new version that provides users with significant functional advantages and, since it now contains 470,000 components, also features 20% more device data.
